Is
This for Real?
A Few Thoughts from Pastor Randy Stehouwer, Senior Pastor |

A Real God?
Yes, He is a real God! My wife, Jodie, and I did not always know God in a personal, relevant way, but the day came when we began to experience a real God who cared about our everyday lives. He has forever changed our lives; our hope is He will forever change yours, too! Whether you already know Him or are wondering if He is even out there, take a moment to think on this verse: "Taste and see that the LORD is good" (Psalm 34:8, NIV). God is telling us that He wants to be a real part of our lives, not just a God who we know or wonder about in some far away place. In practical terms, this verse is telling us that God wants us to experience His goodness every day.
Real Answers?
I grew up in a great family with God and church at the center of our home. Unlike me, my wife grew up in a very dysfunctional family -- a home where God was absent. Neither of us knew that God had real answers to everyday life. Boy, were we missing it! Check out this verse: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'" (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).
We both learned that God did have real answers for the life we both wanted. We were just listening to the wrong answers from the wrong places. This left us both unfulfilled and empty inside. We discovered that God and His Word, the Bible, had real, relevant answers that made our lives a whole lot better, not to speak of the fact that Heaven became our eternal home! Every Sunday, our desire is to share real, practical answers from God's Word that work in everyday life. Life is not always easy, but we have found it's a whole lot better when we do it God's way and use God's answers!
Real People?
I always hated going to a church where people weren't real! They seemed as distant as the God I had been taught about. Our hope is that you will find it very different at RLC. We hope you can find a place where you are loved, accepted, and encouraged, where people believe in you and you are wanted, no matter where you come from or your circumstances in life. Making new relationships is never easy, but we have found that it is well worth the effort to find people that encourage and believe in you and will help you live for God. We are not perfect, nor is our church, but we are real! Our goal is to be real and relatable to all who come through our doors.
Hope Beyond You?
God + You = A Better Life! When God becomes part of life's equation, we suddenly tap into a new resource for living. I like to say it this way: Grace is God's power working on my behalf when I have done nothing to deserve it! We don't have to deserve or pay for what God has made available for each of us. Check out John 10:10: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (NIV).
When my wife and I put God into our life equation, He began to do things for us we could have never done on our own! Can we help you find hope beyond you? We know that God is bigger than you and your problems. He can make your life better, no matter what your circumstances may be.
True Purpose?
We believe every person is unique and special in God's eyes and that He created each of us with a purpose and destiny. We are here to help people find their true purpose. Our vision statement is "Live the Life You Were Born to Live!" We are committed to helping people live out their God-given destiny and to do so together.
Won't you consider joining us in life's journey, putting God into life's equation and living the life you were born to live? We can't wait to see what He has in store for you!
